Yesterday I received an email from a friend and at the end of the email, below the signature, was a single sentence that really reflected exactly what it takes to be a great caregiver while still preserving your own quality of life. The sentence read:
As a caregiver, it's important to learn to accept which parts of life are within your control and which parts of life are beyond your control. Controlling the weather, just like controlling the progression of a loved one's illness or aging, is something well beyond what any of us is capable of doing. But it doesn't mean that we can't do our best to keep dancing, even in the midst of a raging storm.
I'm grateful that each day, I have the honor of coaching caregivers on how they can best keep dancing. If you need to learn a few new steps, why not sign up for a free 30-minute private coaching call with me?
